To be in with a chance, tell us what you’d do with a Staying Alive Grant… What kind of project would you set up in your community to make sure you really got the HIV/AIDS message out there?

Leave your response in the comments section below…

On Friday Travie will pick the best - and if yours is chosen, we’ll send the cap right over to ya…

Get thinking - and get creative!

sorry made a few mistakes haha

I think every school should have a program that tells exactly whats going on with HIV/AIDS, maybe once a week throughout the school year. Advertisement should be put up around towns like having them in stores and on posts outside or on buses, kind of like throwing a bunch of flyers everywhere without the mess. I think even drug stores, when someone buys condoms the store should give out a smaller flyer just explaining a little bit about HIV/AIDS. Even some stores should make clothing like t shirts and sweatpants, they could just say Staying Alive, i mean i know the superstore here sells clothes mostly just plain ones so why not have a cool saying and when people purchase the clothes they will get a brochure on HIV/AIDS. A dollar or two of the purchase would to an HIV/AIDS foundation. Even when people get those stupid flyers that people just throw out maybe put a flyer for HIV/AIDS in peoples mailboxes, hopefully they wont get thrown out, parents should just give them to their children so that they can read over the flyer together and the parents could put HIV/AIDS into more detail. Even classes for parents would be good because parents get scared too, so getting a review on HIV/AIDS for parents could help their children learn more and maybe their children will tell their friends. We’re all connected somehow everyone will know. :)

where i live alot of people skate and go to shows, so with a staying alive grant i would host a skateathon with live bands, make t-shirts, and have people talk about what they could do to prevent HIV/AIDS. i would auction off skateboards and clothing and all proceeds would go to the foundation.

I would make a documentary film. As someone who has no first-hand experience with HIV/AIDS, I would seek out those that do, ascertain their current perspectives about life, love, and everything else. I passionately feel that so little people have first-hand accounts of the fairly uncommon diseases, and as a result of such, we have no grasp on the humanity the diseases destroy. HIV and AIDS affects real people, I’ve just got to show that to the world.

Honestly; I would just buy some good condoms wholesale and hand them out to the neighborhood. not like those cheap ass nyc condoms that don’t fit and rip when you put in work. and let the people know that each time they use one of those rubbers they prevent HIV from spreading. don’t try to lecture them to death but just let them know that their small action does make a difference.

    My idea:

    I got a few idea’s

To promote I would do a charityrun with all schools around my area, the schoolkids would get a list from there teachers to go and visit there neighbours and family and see if they want to promote them. the younger kids will probably get alot of money because they like to go around the neighbourhood and collect money for school. I liked it when i was younger.

Also you could go around schools and tell the kids about HIV/Aids and what they can do about it. and what they can do so they wont get it.

Also you could give around condoms on music festivals or something like that.

You can write songs about it like travis McCoy did.

an other thing that you can do is organize demonstrations but not like a little one but with Television and radio and things.

You can also advertise in the new paper and on the tv and the radio

and a big thing is that you have to know what your talking about HIV/Aids is not just something its a big problem all over the world.

  6. we can try ask the DepEd here in Philippines to add a subject on the high school and college curriculum so that they can study about it and the students of the Philippines would have an idea about it and know what they should do to prevent it

not only here in Philippines, but we can try to do this world wide so we can help each other and try to prevent the spreading of this virus

I will do a school project and a lot of material for the internet like a documentary film and a track about HIV.
